DroneFest undergoes changes, but event still a go

The first annual 2015 DroneFest, set to go at Antelope Lake in July, has undergone some big changes in these last few weeks.

DroneFest, the brainchild of Gull Lake resident Craig Baird, won’t be having the airshow this year, as originally planned.

“When we looked at all the costs we were going to incur for insurance, tents, security and other things, we decided to scale it back this year,” said Baird.

“Like I told the DroneFest committee, just because we scale back this year doesn’t mean we won’t get big. Think about Comic-Con. That started with a few guys in a hotel conference room. Now look at it.”

Baird first thought of DroneFest, which was originally supposed to feature numerous drones in an airshow, last year during Communities In Bloom judging.

The Gull Lake & District Kinsmen Annual Ball Tournament!

The time is here again!! The Gull Lake & District Kinsmen are having their annual ball tourney! Here is the info you need to know:

~ It’s 4 on 4

~ $100 per team

~ 9 Player max. (1 goalie and 2 lines)

~ must be 19 or older to play

~ beer gardens in between the blue lines!! With games played on each end!

~ there will be food for purchase and snacks will be provided at each table.

~ remember this is a money raising event so have fun, spend some money and show some sportsmanship.

~ please have you team registered by Thursday April 23rd by 1:00pm so the draw can be made. There might be games     played on Friday evening depending on the amount of teams. Beer gardens will be open if that is the case! No worries there!
